Bible study : What means a Seed in the Bible?

*Main reference : Mt13:31~32

 

31. He told them another parable:

 

"The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field.

 

 

32. Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches."

Physical characteristics

1)Life

2)To grow

3)To reap what is sown.

Figurative Seed :

✱Mk 4:13

Then Jesus said to them, "Don't you understand this parable? How then will you understand any parable?

 

✱Lk 8:11

"This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God.

 

✱1Jn 3:9

9. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.

 

10. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother.
