Daeungjeon Hall of Beomeoa Temple, Busan
Daeungjeon is a Buddihist worship hall enshrining a statue of Sakyamuni Buddha. This hall is also the main hall of Beomeosa Temple.
Beomeosa Temple was founded by Uisang(625-702), an eminent monk of the Silla period(57 BCE-935 CE). However, it wa completely destroyed during the Japanese invasionsof 1592-1598 and was rebuilt in 1613 by Mond Myojeon.
Daeungjeon Hall was built at the same time and since then has undergone several renovantions and repairs.
Inside the hall is a wooden Sakyamuni Triad(Treasure No. 1526). It consists of Sakyamuni and two attenant bodhisattvas, which altogether represent the past, present, and future Buddha.
