A lava column forms when lava pours down from the ceiling to the floor and congeals. Lava columns are found in many lava tubes elsewhere around the world.
However the 7.6m-high lava column in Manjangul Lava Tube is the largest lava column in the world. The lava poured down from the ceiling spread across the floor of lower passages and made well-developed lava toes. The first section entrance of the Manjanggul lava tube
Manjanggul has an open entrance exposed by collaps of the ceiling. Debris from rockfaills is thus distrubted near the entrance.
The temperature difference between the inside and outside of the lava tube has led to the growth of unique vegetation and living organisms.
The first section of the lava tube starting from the entrance is largely divided into the upper and lower lava tubes, each stretching approximately 900 meters and 1.5 kilometers, respectively.
Due to safety reasons, the firs section remains closed to the public.#BIBLE #BIBLESTUDY #SHINCHEONJI_CHURCH #UNESCO #MANJANGGUL #JEJU
